Intelitek introduces the ER-400, a mobile robot, into its spectrum of products. The ER-400 responds to advanced market demands in the field of mechatronics. This field is fast developing and the technologies that have already been assimilated into this field pose new challenges in understanding the correct integration of existing technologies with innovations in mechatronics. Students and researchers are given the opportunity for “hands-on” experience using existing knowledge and technologies while their learning opportunities and ability to create and innovate is not hindered, as they expose the hidden potential available in the combination of various technologies. The ER-400 features include: § Strong, open, reliable platform § 43 cm diameter, 14 kg § wheel drive with odometer and 2 rear casters § Over 50 sensors, including ultrasonic sensors, PSD, infrared sensors, and others For more information about the ER-400, click here. |

During the last quarter, Intelitek finalized the installation of a 4 station CIM system at Mahanakorn University of Technology (MUT), a leading private university in Thailand. This unique CIM system comprises mobile stations, various Intelitek robots, a stand alone robotic station, and advanced applications (such as calipers and a gluing unit). This new CIM system should enable the university to implement its research in the area of CIM technology. Intelitek sees this installation as an important reference site in the Thai educational market, as well as in the entire Asia Pacific Region. |
Intelitek’s latest installation at Bogazicy University in Istanbul, Turkey integrated Intelitek’s CIM equipment with existing Bogazicy University equipment. The project targets the development and evaluation of manufacturing algorithms and hardware integration in manufacturing systems. The installation comprised four stations, including ASRS, assembly, FMS and QC. The system also included an automatic guided vehicle and central CIM management control software, designed and developed by the university’s lab staff, under the supervision of Dr. Umit Bilge. |

The interview was conducted with Dr. Ümit Bilge the Director of the Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing Laboratory of the Industrial Engineering Department in Bogaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. The interview focuses on the unique aspects of this laboratory and the integration of Intelitek’s CIM equipment into a laboratory that was already equipped with robotics equipment and CIM control software developed by the university. The laboratory at Bogazici University incorporates an automatic guided vehicle for the transfer of materials between CIM stations, thus entering a new level of materials handling. The lab combines the use of this robot with other Intelitek machines and robots. A complete transcript of the interview in English or Turkish is available through the Intelitek Marketing Department. The interview, in English or Turkish, is also available in video format, provided on a CD. Contact Intelitek’s Marketing Department to order these new materials. |
