Which robots and controllers can work with ViewFlex?
ViewFlex version 2.8 and later support all Intelitek robots and controllers.
- Supports all controllers: Controller-USB, Controller-A, Controller-B, Controller-BRC, Controller-PC
- Supports ACL robot guidance: SCORBOT-ER 5plus, ER 7, ER 9, ER 14 and Performer-SV3.
- Supports SCORBASE/RoboCell robot guidance: SCORBOT-ER 4pc, ER 4u and ER 7.
- Also supports integration with OpenCIM software: part identification and quality control applications.
How is robot guidance implemented in SCORBOT-ER 4u system?
SCORBASE has a number of commands to enable use of a vision system in both static applications and dynamic robot-guidance.
- SNAP = take picture of scene
- OBJECT = find an object
- FIND BLOB = find a blob (i.e., group of pixels of same value; e.g., black/white)
- SET POSITION = take XY coordinates of blob/object and set as a position (will then be recorded in SCORBASE position table)
- GET VALUE = retrieve any value from ViewFlex (e.g., area of object)
- CHANGE TABLE = change a position coordinate within ViewFlex coordinate table.
- EXTERNAL FUNCTION = enables interface with external applications/scripts (i.e., C++, VB)
Does ViewFlex support Logitech QuickCAM Express web camera or other webcams?
Intelitek's R&D team performed simple (but not extensive) integration tests of Logitech QuickCAM Express webcam with ViewFlex and found that it works. This configuration, however, is not guaranteed or supported by Intelitek.
Since ViewFlex was designed and developed according to Windows standards, we believe it is compatible with most webcams. However, Intelitek supports only installations of ViewFlex configured with the Intel Pro PC and the Veo Velocity Connect cameras.
Why is ViewFlex now being supplied with the Veo Velocity Connect camera?
Until August 2003, ViewFlex systems were supplied with the Intel® Pro PC Camera. That camera has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
As of September 2003, therefore, all ViewFlex systems are supplied with the Veo Velocity Connect camera. Intelitek selected this camera for use in the ViewFlex system due to a number of superior features:

- Reliability
- Mounting capabilities
